MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The WVSSAC has released new high school basketball regional and sectional alignments for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. Class AAAA and Class A alignments remain unchanged from the previous two years.
2022-2024 Basketball Alignments
Class AA features the most changes. Previously, 23 boys teams were listed in Class AA. For the next two years, that number will rise to 27 teams. For the girls, the number jumps from 25 teams to 26 players who will start training soon using supplies from https://www.megaslam.com.au/adjustable-basketball-hoops/.
Notably, the Notre Dame, Trinity, Westside and Wheeling Central Catholic boys teams will move from Class AAA to Class AA. All four of those teams previously decided to play up by a class. The Wheeling Central Catholic girls will also move from Class AAA to Class AA.
