Woman dies after being struck by train

PRATT, W.Va. — A woman walking on the railroad tracks in eastern Kanawha County Sunday morning was struck by a train and died.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department has identified the woman as Carrie Lee Adkins, 30, of Paint Creek.

The collision occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on the tracks near the intersection of state Route 61 and Paint Creek Road.
