CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission has approved the compensation package for Dr. Dianna Phillips, newly appointed interim president at Fairmont State University in a meeting that was held Friday morning.
Phillips was appointed to the position July 15 after serving as Fairmont State’s vice president of academic affairs and provost.

“I’m looking forward to working with Dr. Phillips in this role as we work, collectively as a state, to increase opportunities for our students to succeed in their studies and in their careers,” state Higher Education Chancellor Dr. Sarah Armstrong Tucker said.

The commission approved the appointment of Dr. Beverly Boggs to the Higher Education Student Financial Aid Advisory Board. She currently serves as the director of financial aid and assistant vice president of enrollment at Marshall University. Dr. Boggs will serve a three-year term.
The HEPC also reauthorized Alderson Broaddus University and Bethany College to confer baccalaureate degrees following a review of additional information requested at the June 10 meeting.
