Barbour County man gets 50 years for child porn

ELKINS, W.Va. — A Barbour County man is headed to federal prison for the next 50 years for multiple incidents of using children to produce sexually explicit videos.

Jon Travis Yost, 28, of Philippi, was convicted of production of child pornography. A federal judge seated in Elkins gave him the 50 year sentence. The crimes occurred while he was on probation for unrelated sexual crimes at the state level.

“Mr. Yost won’t be able to harm any children in the jail cell where he will be living for the next 50 years,” said U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld. “Sadly, his victims will continue to suffer from the damage he has done, and some may never fully recover.”

He was previously convicted of third degree sexual assault in Barbour County.
