Monongalia County man arrested on sexual assault charges

MAIDSVILLE, W.Va. — A Monongalia County man is facing two counts of first degree sexual assault and is in jail on $1 million bail.

James Mayle, 46, of Maidsville, allegedly sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl.

Monongalia County sheriff’s deputies said a second 9-year old victim told police at the Child Advocacy Center in Morgantown that Mayle had been touching her inappropriately as long as she can remember. The victim told police Mayle had molested her at least 20 times and threatened to harm family if she said anything about the conduct.

Mayle has been charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
