Joyful Night celebration Saturday evening at state capitol

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The annual Joyful Night celebration hosted by Gov. Jim Justice and First Lady Cathy Justice will take place Saturday night at the state capitol.

The celebration, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will include the light of the state Christmas Tree and musical performances involving groups from across the state.

The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 6 p.m. This year’s tree was donated by Christmas Tree Farmer Jim Rockis from his property in Morgantown.

There will also be activities taking place inside the state capitol. Trees inside the capitol are decorated to honor Gold Star Mothers, members of the Armed Forces, and First Responders. The Red Cross will also have a table with a card for our members of the military currently in service.

Saturday night’s event will be streamed
