No damage or injuries reported in Mon County lightning strike

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia County home was hit by lightning late Thursday morning, according to Monongalia County MECCA 911.

Firefighters responded to a residence in Brookhaven at about 11:45 a.m. and found smoke coming from the back porch. No active fire was found.

It was determined the house had been struck by lightning.

Firefighters cleared the scene around noon, and no injuries were reported.
