Pennsylvania man fatally struck while trying to remove tree from Taylor County highway

GRAFTON, W.Va. — A Pennsylvania man died Friday morning while trying to move a downed tree for the roadway.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department said the unidentified victim was driving south on U.S. Route 250 around 6:50 a.m. when he encountered the tree across the roadway. When the man got out to move the tree, a northbound vehicle hit it, pinning the victim to his vehicle.

The victim died at the scene.

Deputies have not determined if charges will be filed against the other driver.
