Winfield woman stabbed by daughter

WINFIELD, W.Va. — A Putnam County woman is in custody charged with stabbing her mother during a domestic dispute.

According to authorities, Hannah Simms of Winfield was charged with malicious wounding after stabbing her mother Tuesday evening.

The daughter and her boyfriend allegedly got into an argument at a home in the Winfield Mobile Home Park. The girl’s mother tried breaking up the fight between the two but then Simms stabbed her mother in the chest. The condition of the mother hasn’t been released.

Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Eggleton said the mother got out of the home with a child and that officers with the police department were able to find them outside the home.
