MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Logan High School graduate Zach Green has stepped down after seven seasons leading the boys basketball program at his alma mater. Green made the announcement on social media Tuesday afternoon.
“It is with a heavy heart that I would like to announce my resignation as Head Basketball Coach at Logan High School,” Green said. “A decision that was one of the most difficult I have ever made. But for the first time in my life, my dreams and ambitions are outside of the game of basketball.
“There are so many people that have guided and supported me during my tenure here. It would be impossible to name them all! Our community is filled with amazing individuals who have made Logan basketball what it is today,” Green said. “Moving forward, I hope that you continue to give your unwavering support to our student athletes. It is truly what makes Logan a special place for coaches and athletes.”
After graduating from Logan High School, Green enjoyed a successful college career at Alderson Broaddus College.
Green posted a pair of 20-win seasons in his tenure leading the Wildcats and he compiled a record of 117-51. The Wildcats advanced to the Class AAA state tournament in 2022, ending the season with a record of 23-3.
Green will coach the South All-Stars in the annual North-South All-Star Basketball Game in South Charleston on June 9.
