Huntington man arrested for solicitation of minor in Ripley

RIPLEY, W.Va. — A Huntington man is in custody in Jackson County charged with arranging for a sexual encounter with a minor.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jonathan Adkins of Huntington Friday evening after he travelled to Ripley to meet up with what he thought was a 14 year old girl for a sexual encounter. Investigators said the two met on social media and agreed to meet up for sex.

Jackson County deputies were made aware of the arrangement and were waiting for him when he arrived. He was taken into custody after a brief confrontation and remains jailed.

He’s charged with a single count of solicitation of a minor via computer.
