Ritchie County teen killed in farm accident

HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — A Ritchie County teenager died in what is described as a farming accident.

The victim, James “Ethan” Cain, 18, of Harrisville died of injuries he suffered in the mishap Thursday evening according to a press release from the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. on Prunty Road.

Investigators did not reveal the nature of the accident.

Ritchie County Ambulance Authority, Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, Smithville Volunteer Fire Department, Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department, and the Office of Emergency Management also responded.
