Wahama completes successful Class A state title defense (again) with 3-1 win over St. Marys

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Wahama secured their third consecutive Class A state championship with a 3-1 win over Little Kanawha Conference rival St. Marys Thursday at Little Creek Park.

The White Falcons (31-5) defeated the Blue Devils (30-6) for the second time in the tournament and for the fourth time this season.

Ohio University signee Mikie Lieving collected her third victory of the tournament. She struck out 11 batters and allowed just four hits. Her counterpart from St. Marys, Cali Masters struck out ten batters in five innings of work.
