Body identified, shooting reported in Huntington Monday afternoon

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Authorities in Huntington are investigating two separate incidents from Monday involving a man’s body that was found and a shooting.

Around 2:20 p.m., a body, later identified as Dustin Kimball, 36 of Huntington, was found dead in the Guyandotte area near the railroad tracks at 33rd Street. Huntington Police and Cabell County EMS responded to the call.

Huntington Police said Kimball’s death is under investigation and did not involve a train. Nothing suspicious about his death has been discovered at this time.

Detectives are also investigating a shooting involving a 48-year-old man injuring his foot.

Late Monday evening around 10 p.m., a man was shot in the foot outside a home in the 800 block of 19th Street. He was transported by Cabell County EMS to a local hospital. His injuries are reportedly non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made.
