Bank robbery under investigation in Huntington; Iowa man in custody

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — An Iowa man is charged with robbing a bank in Huntington Monday afternoon.

Huntington police allege Jesse Specht, 45, entered the Truist Bank near the intersection of 5th Avenue and First Street at about 2:30 p.m. and demanded money. He said he had a gun.

At around 3:15 p.m., Cabell County deputy searching the area around Kroger on First Street saw a man, later identified as Specht, acting suspiciously. He took off running and was quickly apprehended.

Specht is charged with felony bank robbery.

There were no injuries reported.
