MADISON, W.Va. — Class AA No. 5 Weir used a 12-yard touchdown pass from Malachi Stromile to Corey Lyons in the final minute to secure a 35-33 win at No. 4 Scott in Saturday’s Class AA quarterfinal.

The Skyhawks (10-2) had gone ahead 33-28 with 2:29 left on quarterback Matt Frye’s 4-yard TD run, but the Red Riders (11-1) answered back and scored the winning touchdown with 34 seconds left.

Weir advances to play at No. 1 North Marion in a semifinal next week.
