Reports: Marshall parts ways with four assistant coaches

According to numerous published reports, Marshall University will not retain four assistant coaches for next season.

Offensive coordinator and former WVU quarterback Clint Trickett, linebackers coach Shannon Morrison, offensive line coach and former WVU assistant Bill Legg and wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight will not return for the 2024 season.

Marshall became bowl eligible with a 35-21 win over Arkansas State on Saturday, completing a 6-6 regular season.

Following Saturday’s win, Marshall Athletic Director Christian Spears released a statement saying, in part, that the season fell short of expectations while expressing support for head coach Charles Huff.

Huff has posted a 22-16 record in three seasons as head coach. Marshall will learn their bowl destination on Sunday.
