Fire Marshal’s Office investigating deadly blaze in Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — An investigation is underway following a deadly fire in Parkersburg.

According to authorities, a 27-year-old woman died in the blaze that occurred in an apartment building on Market Street Tuesday morning.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze.

The death is the sixth fire-related death in West Virginia during the past week. Other fatal fires have been reported in Grant, Braxton, Wayne and Logan counties.
