Woman killed in Nicholas County fire

CRAIGSVILLE, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office said Friday it’s working with state police in connection with a deadly fire in Nicholas County.

The blaze, which occurred Thursday morning at a residence on Cruiser Road in Craigsville, claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman.

Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office have ruled the cause of the blaze as undetermined but troopers are continuing to assist with the investigation.

The victim’s body is at the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification.
