Indiana fugitive arrested in W.Va.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man sought for a fatal DUI accident in Indiana since 2021 has been arrested in West Virginia.

According to the U.S. Marshal Service in the southern district of West Virginia, Glen Franklin Dent, 59, of Muncie, In. was found Monday evening at a home in Gauley Bridge.

Dent has been wanted in Madison County, Indiana since August 2022 for charges stemming from a fatal wreck on August 10, 2021.

Dent is accused of killing one man and leaving several others seriously injured in that crash. Charges pending against him in Indiana included three counts of Vehicular Homicide, three counts of Causing Death While Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, three counts of Causing Serious Bodily Injury While Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, Possession of Cocaine, and Carrying a Handgun without a License.

He was taken into custody around 7:45 p.m. in Gauley Bridge, W.Va. He’s not jailed awaiting extradition back to the state of Indiana to face the charges.
