MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Police in Morgantown have arrested a 20-year-old subject after allegedly throwing nearly 100 grams of marijuana out of a car during a traffic stop in downtown.

Police spotted a vehicle Tuesday with an expired registration on Spruce Street near the intersection of Willey Street. Police attempted to stop the vehicle near the Mountainlair, but the vehicle continued onto College Avenue.

From the intersection of Spruce and Willey Streets to the Mountainlair and on College Avenue, the occupants of the vehicle refused to stop.

On College Avenue, police said a passenger door opened and a large plastic bag with a green leafy substance was thrown out of the car.
