Raleigh County man charged in May shooting death

STANAFORD, W.Va. — A Raleigh County man not originally charged in a May shooting death is now being indicted.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said Stephen Neal, 50 of Stanaford has been charged with the murder and kidnapping of Chad Minor. He is also charged with the use of a firearm during a felony charge.

Minor was killed at a home on Hoist Road in the Stanaford area on Friday, May 24.

The sheriff’s office looked into circumstances in the investigation and found enough evidence to charge Neal.

Neal is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail awaiting a bond hearing in the Raleigh County Circuit Court.
