MetroNews has new voice in Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The MetroNews Radio Network is pleased to announce we now have a new and more powerful home in Parkersburg.

Effective Monday, July 8, popular MetroNews programs like Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval. Sportsline with Tony Caridi and GameNight with Fred Persinger and Dave Jecklin can now be heard on WVAM-AM 1450, FM 98.1 and FM 107.9, owned by Seven Ranges Radio.

“MetroNews is always looking for better ways to serve their listeners around the state,” MetroNews Affiliate Relations Director Fred Persinger said. “We knew we needed a more powerful, listener-oriented partner in the Mid-Ohio Valley and that’s when Sam Yoho and Tom Taggert of WVAM-AM 1450, FM 98,1 & FM 107.9 reached out and the new partnership was established.”

Seven Ranges Radio President and General Manager Sam Yoho said he’s long been a MetroNews fan.

“I loved listening to MetroNews even when the programming was on a competitor across town,” Yoho said. “A program like Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval is very influential and listeners check in on a daily basis to find out what is happening in news across the state.”

In addition to Talkline, Sportsline & GameNight, listeners in the Parkersburg/Vienna area will also be able to stay tuned in with the best news reporting in the state with the professional news staff from MetroNews that provides updated newscasts each hour.
