(HUNTINGTON, W.Va.) — Marshall football has an open week this Saturday, but expect a number of Thundering Herd fans to visit Joan C. Edwarrds Stadium on Saturday.

They are anticipated to attend services paying tribut to late Tundering Herd broadcaster Woody Woodrum. Woodrum died suddenly and unexpectedly last Saturday morning. Service are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Big Green Room at the stadium.

Woodrum, a native of Winfield, had become synonymous with Marshall Sports. He recently celebrated his 50th anniversary with the school’s athletic department in either broadcasting or as the team’s chief of equipment. Woodrum was 68.
