Crash closes southbound lanes of I-79 in Monongalia County Monday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — State police are investigating a Monday afternoon crash on I-79 southbound in Monongalia County involving two tractor-trailers and a passenger car.

The accident was reported at 3 p.m. near the Westover exit. The Mon County Hazmat Team was called to the scene due to a spill of fuel and coolant.

The interstate was closed due to the clean up and investigation.

As of 6 p.m. both lanes remained closed.

No injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
