Capitol Christmas tree delivery delayed

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There has been an issue with the state’s officials Christmas tree.

The big Spruce which was due to be delivered to the Capitol on Wednesday is yet to arrive. Officials say it turned out the truck sent to get the tree from Watoga State Park wasn’t big enough.

The tree is being harvested from the Beaver Creek Campground at Watoga State Park in Pocahontas County.

Delivery will have to be rescheduled when the get larger equipment in place to handle the transport.

The tree will be erected and decorated for the Christmas celebration on the Kanawha River side of the capitol building in Charleston.
