MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — 2024 MetroNews Player of the Year Koi Fagan has announced his college plans and the state champion quarterback is headed to Huntington. After visiting Marshall University over the weekend, Fagan has committed to play for the Thundering Herd of Marshall.

Fagan led Martinsburg High School to their second consecutive state championship this fall. He rushed for 1,836 yards and 28 touchdowns and passed for 2,264 yards and 33 TDs. In Class AAAA state championship game against rival Spring Mills, Fagan faced a defense that had nine shutouts and 37 points allowed over 13 games. He rushed 27 times for 333 yards and two scores, including the game-winning 80-yard touchdown tote with under two minutes to play.
The week before leading the Bulldogs to their 11th state championship, Fagan was key in a narrow 35-34 semifinal win against Huntington. He rushed for 97 yards, passed for 160 and was in on a stop on the Highlanders’ two-point attempt in the final minute that would’ve given them a late lead.
Fagan also played a pivotal role as a defensive back in addition to guiding an offense that produced 618 points over 13 wins for an average of 47.5. In 11 victories excluding the two wins over Spring Mills, the Bulldogs averaged 52.5 points.
