MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — On the eve of the latest National Signing Day, West Virginia University has picked up another verbal commitment from an in-state standout. Fairmont Senior lineman Trevor Bigelow announced on Tuesday morning that he will sign with the Mountaineers.

Bigelow started for the Polar Bears since his freshman season in 2021 and he was a key member of Class AA state championship teams in his freshman and junior seasons.

Bigelow earned first-team All-State honors in each of the past two seasons, as a defensive lineman in 2023 and an offensive lineman this past fall. He also earned honorable mention All-State distinction as a sophomore.

In his four seasons with the Polar Bears, Bigelow’s teams posted a record of 39-10, with an 11-2 mark in postseason play.

Bigelow joins Spring Mills’ Max Anderson and Bridgeport’s Carter Zuliani as recent in-state commitments to play at WVU. Hurricane’s Tyshawn Dues and Huntington’s Zah Jackson signed in the December signing window.

In recent years, Darius Stills, Dante Stills and Zach Frazier all played on the offensive and defensive lines at FSHS before moving on to play at WVU. Class of 2017 graduate Jake Abbott also excelled at linebacker with the Mountaineers.

Bigelow also received offers from other Division I schools including Mercyhurst, Morehead State and VMI.
