Two dead in Wood County UTV crash

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Two people died in a UTV wreck Monday morning in Wood County.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department said the wreck occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Sams Creek Road near Paddle Run.

Deputies said the man driving and a female passenger were killed in the crash. A second passenger, a man identified as Edward McComas III, was injured but able to go to a nearby residence for help.

Investigators said alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
