WVSSAC Class A Boys Basketball State Tournament schedule

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Eight teams have qualified for the WVSSAC Class A Boys Basketball State Tournament. The five-day, 28-game event will begin on March 11 at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Radio broadcasts of all state tournament games will air on the MetroNews Radio Network and will be streamed at wvmetronews.com. MetroNews will also produce HD video broadcasts of the four championship games.

Class A State Tournament seeds:

  1. Tug Valley (22-2)
  2. Tucker County (19-2)
  3. East Hardy (19-5)
  4. Greater Beckley Christian (15-8)
  5. Huntington St. Joseph’s (16-7)
  6. Clay-Battelle (18-6)
  7. Magnolia (16-8)
  8. Montcalm (17-6)

 

Class A Quarterfinals:

Thursday, March 20

Game 1 – No. 3 East Hardy vs. No. 6 Clay-Battelle – 9:30 a.m.

Game 2 – No. 2 Tucker County vs. No. 7 Magnolia – 1 p.m.

Game 3 – No. 1 Tug Valley vs. No. 8 Montcalm – 5:30 p.m.

Game 4 – No. 4 Greater Beckley Christian vs. No. 5 Huntington St. Joseph’s – 9 p.m.

 

Class A Semifinals:

Friday, March 21

Game 5 – Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner – 5:30 p.m.

Game 6 – Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner – 9 p.m.

 

Class A Championship:

Saturday, March 22

Game 7 – Semifinal winners, 7:30 p.m.
