On Saturday, Ross Hodge secured his fourth commitment in his first week on the job. Chattanooga transfer guard Honor Huff averaged 15.2 points per game this past season in helping the Mocs win the NIT Championship. Huff connected on 131 three-pointers, making 41.6 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.

A day later, Troy transfer forward Jackson Fields became the fifth new Mountaineer during the current recruiting cycle. Fields averaged 7.9 points per game in the 2024-2025 season for the Trojans. Troy reached the NCAA Tournament last month.

Huff and Fields join a trio of previous commitments — UNCW center Harlan Obioha, North Texas forward Brenen Lorient and incoming freshman forward DeAndre Thomas as new Mountaineers.

Meanwhile, WVU women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg received a pair of verbal commitments on Sunday and a total of three over the weekend.

On Saturday, Butler transfer guard Riley Makalusky announced on social media her intention to join the Mountaineers. Makalusky averaged 8.1 points per game in her sophomore season.

On Sunday, Kellogg received pledges from former Wisconsin center Carter McCray and former Norfolk State forward Kierra Wheeler. McCray started 29 games this past season with the Badgers. She averaged 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Wheeler started all 34 games this winter for NSU. She averaged 15.8 points and 8.9 rebounds a contest.

Also on Sunday, WVU confirmed the signing of former Texas Tech guard Loghan Johnson.
