
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — New WVU head coach Ross Hodge is welcoming another one of his former North Texas players to compete in Morgantown. Rising senior Jasper Floyd announced his commitment to WVU on social media Tuesday afternoon.
Floyd averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 assists per game this past season at North Texas. He started all 36 of the games for the Mean Green, en route to an appearance in the NIT semifinals. Floyd led UNT with 141 assists and 48 steals. He averaged 15.7 points per game in North Texas’s four NIT games.
Prior to arriving at North Texas, Floyd played at Fairfield, Hillsborough College and Northwest Florida State College. He has one season of eligibility remaining. Floyd is a native of Tampa, Fla.
Floyd is the sixth commitment/signee in Ross Hodge’s first recruiting class at West Virginia. Forward Jackson Fields, guard Honor Huff, forward Brenen Lorient and center Harlan Obioha have been announced by WVU as members of the 2025-2026 signing class. Incoming freshman forward DeAndre Thomas has also committed to play for the Mountaineers.
