MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson has filled a key spot on his leadership team.
Benson announced Wednesday the hiring of Fabrizio D’Aloisio as the new vice president for enrollment management at WVU.

D’Aloisio comes to Morgantown from the University of Tennessee.
“Fabrizio is a first-generation college graduate with extensive higher education career experience who will bring new energy and clear direction to WVU Enrollment Management,” Benson said in a Wednesday news release. “With Fabrizio’s leadership, WVU will recruit, educate, and graduate students who are prepared to take on the world.”
D’Aloisio was key in enrollment gains at Tennessee as the chief admissions officer overseeing recruitment and outreach efforts for first-year students nationally and internationally along with transfer students.
“I am inspired by the power of education to change lives,” D’Aloisio said. “As a long-time advocate for the benefits of higher education, I am looking forward to tapping into the strengths of the WVU Enrollment Management team — current employees and future hires — to help prospective students and those already at WVU understand the kind of difference the University can make for them.”
D’Aloisio has also worked with the College Board in various positions, including executive director for higher education services which focused on helping colleges and universities achieve enrollment goals with support from College Board assessments and programs.
D’Aloisio met and talked with many members of the WVU community last month.
“Going forward, Enrollment Management team members will be working together and with our partners across campus to create seamless student experiences,” D’Aloisio said. “I want to see WVU students find and tap into the many opportunities available to them. We’ll know we’ve been successful when we see them graduate, prepared for whatever is next.”
D’Alsoisio holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia, a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo.
“The true strength of a university lies in its people,” he said. “I am honored to join the Mountaineer community and help grow the family by highlighting our exceptional programs, rich traditions and unwavering pride.”
