One Cabell County school first day delayed due to mold

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. –A school’s first day in Cabell County will be postponed due to the discovery of mold in the school.

Explorer Academy, a Pre-K through 5th grade school, was supposed to begin classes Wednesday. However, penicillium and cladosporium was found on Tuesday in a section of the building after a mold remediation company came to the school to perform air quality tests.

School officials decided to delay the start of school until the issue is resolved.
