The West Virginia State High School Basketball Tournament is the second largest state high school tournament in America, second only to Indiana.

The State High School Basketball Tournament is the premier athletic event in West Virginia, drawing over 100,000 fans during ten days of tournament play.  MetroNews airs all 56 games live on statewide radio and all eight championship games on statewide television.

In West Virginia, the state high school basketball tournament is not just an athletic contest, it’s an event. In fact, it is one of the largest sporting events originating in the Mountain State. Thirty two men’s and thirty two women’s teams travel to Charleston each year to determine the champions in four divisions.
