Man who killed father sentenced in Mason County

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The Mason County man who was 17 when he shot and killed his father in April 2012 will spend no more than two years in the Anthony Correctional Center for the crime.

Thomas Jarrell, now 18, of Point Pleasant, was recently sentenced after pleading guilty to an information for second degree murder in November of last year.

Ron Jarrell, 45, was shot and killed outside of the family’s home near Point Pleasant.  His son was later arrested and charged with his murder in Huntington.
