Climbing the charts

Two games into the 2013 season and Rakeem Cato continues to climb the all-time charts at Marshall University.  He’s now among a who’s who of Marshall quarterbacks.

— Rakeem Cato’s second completion of second half (to Gator Hoskins) takes Cato to 6,671 career passing yards, moving him past Carl Fodor’s 6,655 and into 6th place on Marshall all-time list.

— Cato has also moved into 5th place in total offense in his Herd career, 6,834 yards, passing Bernard Morris (6,705) and John Gregory (6,720)

— Tommy Shuler’s fourth catch of the game – 44-yd TD early in second half — takes him to 1,407 career-receiving yards and into top 25 in school history. He passed previous No. 25 James Williams (1,403 yards).

— Coming into this season Doc Holliday’s teams recorded just nine touchbacks on kickoffs.  Amoreto Curraji has 10 touchbacks in the first two games of this season.
