Putnam County sheriff’s investigating fatal crash

HURRICANE CREEK, W.Va. — Police in Putnam County said a single-car crash on Hurricane Creek Road claimed the life of the driver Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said the victim apparently lost control of the vehicle about 5 p.m. and crashed into a tree. The woman, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department was investigating.
