Alleged Kanawha County murderer arrested in Logan County

MINK SHOALS, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man was in police custody on Tuesday morning, charged with shooting and killing a woman and critically injuring her teenage son Monday night in Mink Shoals.

A State Police trooper and a deputy with the Logan County Sheriff’s Department arrested Glenn Skidmore, 40, of Charleston, on charges of murder and malicious wounding during a traffic stop after 4 a.m. Tuesday on Route 119 in Logan.

Law enforcement officers had been looking for the 2001 Chevrolet Tracker he was driving.

According to deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department, Skidmore was a relative of the victims.

It’s alleged Skidmore shot the woman and her son, 17, at a residence on Greenwood Ave. in Mink Shoals at about 7:30 p.m.

The woman died a the scene. The boy ran to a neighbor’s house. Neighbors said he had multiple gunshot wounds and was covered with blood. He was hospitalized Monday night at CAMC with life-threatening injuries.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.
