Morgantown woman faces 20 years for apartment complex fire

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Morgantown woman pleaded guilty Thursday to setting fire to an apartment complex near Mountaineer Field and faces up to 20 years in prison.

Sarah Beth Meckley, 33, admitted to using fire and explosives to maliciously damage or destroy Chateau Royale Apartment Complex. The charge, arson of a building used in interstate commerce, also carries a fine of up to $250,000.

The May 2014 fire was started on the second floor of a business office within the complex.
