2 dead; several injured in Cabell County Route 2 crash

LESAGE, W.Va. A man and woman were killed and five people injured in a traffic accident involving three motorcycles and two pick-up trucks Thursday afternoon on state Route 2 in Cabell County.

The crash happened at around 12:40 in Lesage in front of Hillbilly Hotdogs, according to Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas. The motorcycles were apparently turning into the restaurant when a pick-up truck traveling behind them struck the machines. The victims were traveling on one of the motorcycles.

The man and woman were believed to be in the Huntington area for a motorcycle festival scheduled for this weekend.

Busy Route 2 was closed for a few hours as first responders and investigators remained on the scene.
