WVU hires another Greek life overseer

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University turns to a Pennsylvania State University administrator to help orchestrate further change within the school’s fraternities and sororities.

Dr. Roy W. Baker will begin his position October 30 as the associate dean of students and director of Greek Life.

Baker joins WVU Oct. 30 2015 as the Greek Life Director.
Baker begin at WVU later this month as director of Greek Life.

According to a Tuesday release the university indicated Baker will serve as a mentor to and advocate for the Greek community to bring about “transformative change” in the way Greek life is viewed and functions.

The current director of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and associate director of HUB-Robeson Student Union and Student Activities has been named to a position created by Vice President of Student Life Dr. Bill Schafer.

Schafer’s hiring was announced in January.

Baker will report to Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Corey Farris, and will oversee the new Greek Life office and initiatives that promote the ideals and high standards fraternities and sororities should follow.

Farris is in his new position after a July announcement he would take on additional duties from his dean of students position.
