MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia University junior who was injured in a weekend fall passed away from the injuries he sustained.

WVU officials were notified Wednesday that Sean Guthrie, an industrial engineering major, died at 6:15 a.m. at Ruby Memorial Hospital where he had been placed on life support.

According to West Virginia University Police Chief Bob Roberts, Guthrie, of Toms River, N.J., fell approximately 20 feet off the gabled roofing on the Kappa Alpha house on North High Street Sunday morning.

Roberts said the fall appeared to have been a tragic accident.
