Mercer crash claims life

OAKVALE, W.Va. — One person was killed and another injured following a single vehicle crash Wednesday night on Route 460 in Mercer County, police said.

The vehicle the victims were in rolled several times after the driver appeared to have overcorrected near Oakvale, according to eyewitnesses.

Police said one of the victims, a 28-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second, a 49-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital in Roanoke, Va.
