Maryland man indicted for sexual conduct with child

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Maryland man was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on charges involving transporting a child out of the state for sexual behavior.

Kenneth Earle Ewing, 37, of Hagerstown, Maryland, was indicted on one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Ewing allegedly transported a 12-year-old girl from Ranson, West Virginia, to Hagerstown, Maryland, for the purpose of sexual activity.

Ewing faces up to 10 years incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000 for the first count, and 30 years incarceration and a fine up to $250,000 for the second count.
