Man cited after Harrison County brush fire

LOST CREEK, W.Va. — A Lost Creek man was cited for illegal burning that led to a 20-plus acre brush fire in Harrison County Thursday afternoon.

Low humidity, high temperatures and wind helped to spread the blaze, which was called into 911 dispatchers around 1 p.m. Thursday.

More than a dozen fire departments fought the brush fire for roughly seven hours. The fire was finally under control as of 7:30 Thursday night.

No businesses or homes were affected, and no injuries are reported.
