CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A worker with the West Virginia Division of Child Protective Services is behind bars after a third run in with the law in recent days.
Dustin Kinser, 32, who has been suspended by the state DHHR, was arrested on charges of domestic assault Monday evening.
“There was a 911 call about a domestic dispute between Mr. Kinser and his mother,” said Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Brian Humphreys. “He had shoved her and restrained her while they were arguing. She left the residence and called 911 and he was gone when they arrived at the house.”
It was the third time Kinser had an interaction with police in recent days. At the time of the domestic assault he was free on bond. Last week he was charged with threatening members of the South Charleston Police Department and charged in a separate incident of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The latter chage stemmed from the disappearance of a 17-year old girl from Lincoln County.
“It doesn’t appear there was a trafficking situation or anything like that going on,” said Senior Trooper M.R. Shaffer. “It doesn’t appear there was a sexual relationship either.”
Trooper Shaffer and the South Charleston Police found the teenager, who had been repor
ted missing, with Kinser at a restaurant in South Charleston. The girl is back with her parents. According to Shaffer the two did not meet through a professional encounter, but rather on the social media app KIK.
Kinser’s bond was revoked and he’s lodged in the South Central Regional Jail.
