Early clutch late in game as Logan holds off Beckley, 77-76

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU recruit David Early keyed a late Logan run as the Wildcats held off a furious rally from Woodrow Wilson, winning 77-76 at the American Homes Holiday Classic.

Early scored a game-high 35 points after being held to just 13 points in Friday night’s loss to Morgantown. Drew Hatfield added 19 points for the Wildcats (5-1).

Bryce Radford paced the Flying Eagles with a 28-point effort. Ben Gilliam scored 20 and Danny Bickey added 12.

Logan led 36-27 at halftime and they extended that lead to 12 points early in the fourth quarter. Beckley used an 8-0 run to narrow the deficit and the Flying Eagles crept within two points with two minutes to play.

With the loss, Woodrow Wilson is 0-3 for the first time in school history. Their losses to Greenbrier East, University and Logan have come by a combined 15 points.
