Walmart hiring 1,400 in West Virginia due to coronavirus

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Walmart is hiring 1,400 in West Virginia in reaction to high shopping demand during the coronavirus pandemic.

Walmart is planning on hiring 150,000 new associates for stores, clubs, distribution locations and fulfillment centers across the county.

These positions will be temporary.

Walmart is also planning to provide more than $365 million in cash bonuses to hourly associates on April 2. The bonuses will go to employees hired as of March 1.
