Michigan man faces multiple charges in Harrison County double murder

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Michigan man has been indicted in connection with a 2022 double murder in Harrison County.

Allen Leon Schaffer, 42, of Carson City, Mich., is charged with killing Chasity Chantell Romeo and Corey Snider in a home on Good Hope Pike in West Milford.

A fire was reported at the residence on June 11, 2022. The bodies of Romeo and Snider were found in the debris the following day.

Detectives determined Romeo and Snider had been shot prior to the fire.

Schaffer has been indicted for two counts of murder, one count of first-degree arson, two counts of concealment of the human body, two counts of presentation of a firearm during the commission of a felony and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Schaffer, who has been in custody in Michigan for parole violations in connection with a separate case, has been extradited and is now in the North Central Regional Jail.

The investigation was conducted by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force.
